Getting started
What is Dritta?
Dritta is a place to save and share recommendations with people whose taste you actually trust — not star ratings from strangers. When a friend recommends ("recs") a restaurant, bar, or cafe, it shows up on your map and in your feed with their own note about why it's worth going.
What's a "rec"?
A rec is your personal endorsement of a place — you can add a short comment about why you liked it and tag it with a vibe ("Date Night," "Hidden Gem," "Cheap Eats," etc.). A place can have many people's recs attached to it; your rec is yours alone, separate from anyone else's.
How do I add a rec?
Tap the "Add Rec" button on the Explore tab's map, search for the place, and optionally add a comment and vibe tags before saving. You can also rec a place directly from search if it doesn't have any recs yet.
Lists
What's the difference between a rec and a list?
A rec is your opinion about one place. A list is a collection of places, which can include your own recs and places you've saved without rec'ing. Lists are how you organize recommendations by theme — "Best Brunch," "Date Night Spots," and so on.
What is "My Recs"?
"My Recs" is the default list every account starts with. When you rec a place without picking a specific list, it lands here automatically. It's public by default, so it's the closest thing to your overall public profile of recommendations.
Can I make a list private?
Yes. Every list (except your default "My Recs") can be set to public or private when you create it. Private lists are only visible to you.
What's the difference between following a person and following a list?
Following a person surfaces their public lists and recs generally. Following a specific list keeps that list showing up for you even if you later unfollow the person who owns it — useful if you only care about one particular list someone keeps (like a running "Best Coffee" list) rather than everything they post.
If someone deletes their rec, does it disappear from lists it was saved to?
It's removed from any of their own lists automatically, since deleting a rec means they no longer recommend that place. If someone else separately saved that place to their own list, it stays in that list — saving something to your own list is treated as your own curation choice, independent of whether the original rec is still there.
Friends
How do I find friends on Dritta?
You can search for people directly, or let Dritta match your phone contacts against people already on Dritta (only with your permission — see our Privacy Policy for how contact matching works).
Map & Explore
Why do some pins on the map show a number instead of a place?
When there are a lot of recommendations close together, Dritta groups them into a single numbered pin so the map stays readable. Zoom in and they'll separate back into individual places.
Can I search for a place by what people said about it, not just its name?
Yes — search matches place names as well as the comments and vibe tags people used in their recs, so searching "brunch" can surface a place because someone's rec specifically praised the brunch, even if "brunch" isn't in the place's name.
Account & privacy
Is my location shared with other users?
No — your live location is only used locally, on your device, to show you nearby places and center the map. Other users never see your location.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us at support@dritta.io and we'll take care of it. [CONFIRM: update this once in-app self-serve account deletion ships, if planned.]
Do you sell my data?
No. See our full Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect and how it's used.
